The following Terms and conditions apply to all trekkers who will join CCSV-Nepal 2007 Everest Base Camp “CLIMB For PEACE”.

I) Health:

Good health and physical fitness is required on this trip. We recommend a physical examination for all trekkers.

II) Insurance:

It is a condition while joining the EBC Trek with Center for cultural studies & Volunteering- Nepal that participants/trekkers must be protected by insurance that covers cancellation, accidents, health, emergency evacuation, and lost of items, theft or damage to baggage and personal effects.

All costs for emergency evacuation must be paid in cash in Nepal unless an insurance company has agreed to pay the costs on your behalf. It is important that any insurance policy issued to cover emergency evacuation for a trek does not exclude alpinism or mountaineering. Rescue insurance is not available in Nepal.

III) PAYMENT:

CCSV-Nepal requires US$ 250.00 deposit per person 90 days before the starting date of the trek. For those with US bank account, we offer methods of payment:

Deposit a US dollar cheque to Standard Chartered Bank NY payable to Center for Cultural Studies & Volunteering-Nepal. If you do not have a US bank account, you may send the US$250.00 deposit via wire transfer to Nepal. You can make the final payment in cash or Travelers cheque once you arrive in Kathmandu. Please note that the bank takes 5% commission in every transaction, and that the deposit is non-refundable and non- transferable if you decide not to participate, your deposit will go directly to CCSV-Nepal project funds. If you plan to make a wire transfer, please contact us for information.

A payment of US$ 1,550.00 will be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Refunds

There will be no refunds if trekkers leave a trip for any reason whatsoever, either voluntarily or involuntarily, after it has begun. We will make no refunds for any meals, accommodation or services not used.

VI) Delays and Itinerary Changes.

The participants / trekkers specifically agrees that CCSV-Nepal shall not be held responsible for any delays or changes in itineraries caused by an act, omission or other circumstances on the part of domestic airlines or helicopter companies in Nepal; the trekkers/travelers understand that such situations may occur, and that we will not be able to inform them of each possible problem.

The itinerary, highlights will be adhered to as far as possible, but these are to be used as a guide only. CCSV-Nepal or trek staff may make omissions or alterations to the itinerary, highlights, as they deem it to be necessary. Some highlights may be inaccessible for any number of reasons.

V) Responsibility:

We reserve the right to refuse to continue to carry any participant(s) causing inconvenience or annoyance to other /trekkers, or creating difficulties that would hamper the smooth running of a trip.

We shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or personal possessions, or any consequential losses resulting there from. If a participant/trekker is injured or becomes ill, all the hospital expenses, doctors' fees and repatriation costs are the participant/trekker's responsibility, and CCSV-Nepal shall not be liable for any refund of the trek fees.

It is the participants /trekker's responsibility to have valid passports and all visas and equipment that may be required on the trip. We do not accept responsibility for failure to obtain these visas for any reason.

VI) Assumption of Risk:

The participants/trekker understands that during the course of the trip, certain risks and dangers may occur, including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in mountainous terrain, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature. The participants /trekker agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey, and agrees that no liability will be attached to CCSV-Nepal or its outfitters, employees or agents, or to any member of the tour group in respect to death, personal injury, illness or delay of participants /trekker, or for any loss or damage to the property of the participants/trekkers during the course of the trip, what so ever caused.
